It is an interesting experience being around, “car guys”, “car nuts”, “gear heads”, “petrol heads”, and whatever other names are appropriate, I can’t say I was ever truly in that category as a youngster, or even at any point, but I might be getting there slowly. They’re a passionate bunch and it rubs off.
It’s not going to happen fast enough for me to write the proverbial automotive blog, but here I am at WheelsTV and we’re building a social network around that enormous automotive niche.
For those of you who have been to the ‘contact us’ page and looked at the picture of 289 Great Road, and perhaps wondered what goes on within those glass and brick walls as a social network takes shape, this will give you some perspective.
Of course much more than building a social network happens here, our film crews, drivers, writers, producers and editors pump out at least 55 new video test drives and vehicle profiles a month, plus car shows from around the world and enthusiast events around the country that’s no simple task.
We license our content around the world on cable, broadband and mobile platforms, to some of the worlds largest, and some of the worlds smallest companies,
And yet, some of the most important decisions we have to make on a daily basis are, what’s for lunch and where’s it coming from, a bad lunch can crimp the creative process for that day.
But back to the social network, It started as “My WheelsTV Garage”, we think we’re going to go with “WheelsTV Garage”
We work on this literally day and night, and we’re always looking for feedback.
Today we’ll be working on making it easier for you to load videos into your “WheelsTV Garage” and share those videos with friends and other enthusiasts yet to become your friend.
